Job Opportunity

A Night Porter is sought to join the team at a luxurious 4-star hotel, located in the heart of County Carlow. This exceptional opportunity will allow you to showcase your skills and experience in providing warm, friendly, and efficient service to guests.


About the Role
  • Carry out duties to the highest standards as laid down in performance manuals.
  • Ensure all guest queries are handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Take and record all wake-up calls, following proper procedures.
  • Assist with room allocation for VIP guests.
  • Follow up with guests after check-in to ensure satisfaction.
  • Comply with hotel policy regarding cash handling and billing.
  • Liaise with the housekeeping department to meet guest requests.
  • Participate in the up-selling program to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Answer telephones, transfer calls, and take messages according to standards.
  • Set up and clean meeting rooms as required.
  • Clean public areas, including toilets.
  • Clean exterior gardens and smoking areas.
  • Act as a backup to the porters team, assisting with customer requests and information.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Provide a smooth handover from shift to shift.
  • Book out guests when required, following hotel procedure.
  • Maximize occupancy and revenue through daily management.
  • Assist the Night Manager in implementing financial controls.
  • Compile reports as requested by the Night Manager.
  • Ensure all interfaces are operational at all times.
  • Post charges as required, such as newspapers, room service, and bar/restaurant charges.
  • Adhere to banking procedures.
