Job Opportunity: Finance and Operations Specialist

About the Role

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills, effective communication, and influencing abilities, as well as experience in finance and financial record management.

They will also need to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and assess and solve problems efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading finance workstreams, including procurement and day-to-day financial management and reporting.
  • Supporting the Head of Operations to meet sponsorship requirements for financial planning, forecasting, and budgetary oversight.
  • Setting up and overseeing systems for daily operational running of administrative requirements and finance keeping, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and receiving services.
  • Advising on section 40 determinations, in collaboration with the legal team.
  • Setting up and managing systems and policies to provide business support to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and growing team.
  • Acting as Personal Assistant to the two Assessors to the Inquiry, ensuring that all administrative needs are met to support their activities, working closely with all members of the Inquiry team.
  • Acting as lead administrative support for key internal meetings.
  • Preparing and organising meeting papers for the Secretariat, providing diary management support and overall support.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in finance and financial record management.
  • Experience in managing the administrative needs of a principal and/or organisation.
  • Ability to assess and solve problems efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication.
  • Willingness to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance if not already held.
