Site-Based Civil Engineer Required

Attracting a skilled Civil Engineer to our team who can take on key responsibilities and contribute to the delivery of WWTW projects in Mayo is essential.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience setting out, be self-driven and able to work independently, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

This role offers the opportunity to join a large civil contractor and take on challenging site-based projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Ensure all work is completed defect-free and meets project deadlines.
  • Set out detailed works based on contract drawings, conducting regular checks.
  • Oversee the accurate establishment of level and survey control for contracts
  • Identify and implement value engineering opportunities where possible.
  • Maintain accurate records, including site diaries, allocation sheets, and compliance documentation.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges that may arise unexpectedly.
  • Develop and manage procurement schedules, liaising with the procurement team to secure necessary resources.
  • Promote best practices across all site operations.
  • Establish a safe working culture and enforce high safety standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Uphold environmental compliance across all activities.
  • Drive a strong customer focus throughout the organization
  • Champion EHS awareness among teams.

About the Role:

  • Min. Third level qualification (or equivalent) in Construction/Civil Engineering or similar required.
  • Min. 2-3 years site based setting out experience.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, health & safety, Environmental and legal regulations.
  • A self-driven and results-oriented individual with a positive outlook.
  • Experience of temporary work co-ordination a benefit.
  • Experience of MS project.
  • Valid Safe Pass/SMSTS/MSIC card holder.
