Our hotel is seeking a highly experienced Event Management Director to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional with expertise in event planning, sales, and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising revenue and guest satisfaction through effective management of the Meeting & Events Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working towards revenue and conversion targets
  • Directing day-to-day management of reactive sales & event planning
  • Planning and assigning work for the M&E team
  • Overseeing collaboration, management and action of customer satisfaction feedback post event
  • Proactively resolving any outstanding issues
  • Completing weekly forecasts, plans, and productivity reports for management meetings
  • Preparing monthly revenue and P&L reports
  • Participating in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
  • Monitoring budget and upselling products and services to increase revenue
  • Reviewing upcoming M&E business pipeline, identifying gaps and ensuring proactive measures are taken to achieve set targets in conjunction with DOSM
  • Devising creative ideas and strategies to drive business and upsell to clients with contracted business
  • Responsible for recruitment and training of the M&E Team

The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience as a Senior Event Manager/Director of Meeting and Events with a proven track record in leading a large team in a high-volume environment.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A welcoming and friendly personality
  • A structured and organised work approach with the ability to prioritise workload
  • A strong sales focus with the ability to build rapport easily with clients and convert leads into confirmed bookings
  • A positive outlook and ability to project a professional image to all collaborators, both face to face and via phone/email
  • Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
  • Knowledge of event technology products and services
  • Knowledge of contract management and legalities
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera Sales & Catering
  • Strong command of the English Language
