Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role as Deputy General Manager of a hotel. As part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring that all departments are working effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate hotel operations, providing guidance and support to Heads of Department.
  • Communicate regularly with Department Managers to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Oversee event planning and operation, working closely with the General Manager to review personnel rosters and monitor payroll.
  • Identify training needs and work with HR to maintain skills and training standards.
  • Attend management meetings, communicating feedback and actions, and chair meetings in the General Manager's absence.
  • Work with department heads to achieve budgeted Gross Profit margins in food and beverage, controlling and analysing costs.
  • Ensure regular Health & Safety Audits are carried out and staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Drive marketing activities and address guest complaints in a professional manner.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Deputy General Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
