Job Title: Risk and Compliance Specialist

The Role:

Monzo is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the risk management framework is compliant with regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead real-time risk management by defining and building scalable procedures, identifying and documenting issues and controls, and conducting change risk assessments.
  • Support the first line in developing and improving controls that protect customer and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance-related requirements are met, including documentation and approvals.
  • Manage and report on the risk and control environment for our operations product domain.
  • Manage regulatory and audit deadlines and submissions.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 3 years of risk and compliance experience, across operational and conduct risk, pertaining to customer support operations in a regulated environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of risk and compliance experience.
  • Experience with risk compliance meetings/committees, and collating data and writing supporting commentary.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead risk assessments for product change, with a data-led approach to risk identification, assessment, and treatment.
  • Understanding of the Consumer Protection Code and experience applying these regulations and principles to day-to-day work.
