Lead Technical Manufacturing Engineer

As a technical leader in advanced manufacturing, you will be responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement and implementing effective support structures for engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of best practices in product and process performance within the Medical devices industry.
  • Build a network of key divisional/corporate leaders, academic partners, and suppliers to enhance understanding of product manufacture and quality.
  • Drive high levels of employee engagement through effective support structures.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems by analyzing variable factors.
  • Develop system level design strategies.
  • May lead design, development, testing & refinement of systems, subsystems & components.
  • Recommend changes in procedures.
  • Serve as technical advisor to engineering personnel.
Requirements
  • Level 8 Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 6 plus years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Advanced Degree desired, ideally Masters, Black Belt or PHD.
  • Experience in thermal spray coatings or related deposition technologies or materials science experience.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
  • Capable of technically leading a multi-disciplined team in a fast-paced, dynamic and results-motivated environment.
  • Demonstrable excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
  • Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and implement technological and automation advances.
  • Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
