Project Director Role Overview

The Project Director plays a pivotal role in leading the delivery of complex projects or programmes. With a focus on safety, quality, and timeliness, this individual ensures that projects are completed within budget and to the required standards.

This leadership position involves overseeing the implementation of governance frameworks, controls, and reporting mechanisms to ensure effective project management.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Director acts as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the lifecycle of the works.

Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

Engaging with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, including regulatory bodies and local authorities.

Addressing stakeholder concerns and managing expectations effectively.

Accountable for contract management in line with relevant rules of engagement.

Overseeing project budgets, tracking, and reporting.

Optimising resource allocation to achieve financial performance goals.

Identifying potential key risks to projects and implementing suitable risk mitigation measures.

Driving safety performance and compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.

Maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible working environment, adhering to corporate governance and standards.

Managing project governance, planning, project controls, and reporting arrangements according to requirements and quality.

Facilitating reviews of the strategic plan and associated workstreams, monitoring progress, and assessing programme alignment with objectives.

Implementing innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and productivity.

Evaluating and integrating new technologies and methodologies to improve overall performance.

Driving continuous improvement in a structured manner, focusing on strategy, efficiency, industry influence, and operational improvements with measured benefits.
