Job Title: Senior Clinical Lead
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Clinical Lead to support the Director of Nursing in managing the clinical and operational functions in a nursing home. The successful candidate will lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centered, evidence-based nursing care.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating practices to ensure compliance with HIQA standards, national health policies, and best practice guidelines.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans.
- Leading infection prevention and control strategies, ensuring adherence to the latest HIQA guidance.
- Supporting ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Health Act 2007 and its associated regulations.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including risk registers, incident logs, audit reports, and care plans.
- Mentoring and supervising nursing and care staff, promoting professional development and reflective practice.
- Participating in recruitment, induction, rostering, and performance management activities.
- Facilitating regular staff meetings, clinical supervision, and training sessions.
- Promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and autonomy within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Serving as a key contact for residents and families, managing concerns and complaints in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Contributing to strategic planning, resource management, and policy development alongside the Director of Nursing.
- Driving quality improvement initiatives and assisting in developing and implementing the Annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Acting as Deputy for the Director of Nursing when required.
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in nursing management, preferably in a nursing home or similar aged care setting.
- Strong knowledge of HIQA Standards, the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People, and relevant health legislation.
- Leadership training and/or a management qualification is desirable.
