Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in the Psychiatry of Old Age

This is a prestigious opportunity to work as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in the Psychiatry of Old Age at a leading hospital in Dublin.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and communication skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with complex mental health needs, providing high-quality care and support, and contributing to the development of our psychiatric services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage patients with complex mental health needs
  • Provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Contribute to the development of our psychiatric services, including participating in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines
Requirements:
  • A recognised medical qualification (e.g., MB BCh or equivalent)
  • Completion of specialist training in psychiatry (e.g., MRCPI or equivalent)
  • Registration with the Medical Council of Ireland
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
