
Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with people with intellectual disabilities, providing psychological support and guidance to empower them to live self-determined lives.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical therapeutic interventions and the ability to implement and monitor them effectively. They will also be responsible for completing clinical reviews, preparing data for meetings, and providing staff with knowledge and guidance as directed by senior psychologists.
You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist, and Team Leader, to provide comprehensive support to individuals with complex needs. A key aspect of this role is providing visual supports to aid peoples understanding in an accessible way.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also be required to direct care and support to individuals in community settings, including day shifts, sleepovers, and weekends. You will work under the direction of the Team Leader and in conjunction with other senior team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant third-level qualification in psychology or a related field and a minimum of 1 year's experience in an Intellectual Disability service for adults. You must also demonstrate the ability to support adults with complex needs, flexibility to meet the needs of the service, and a full driver's license (essential for Kildare).
