Homeware Buyer Role

We are seeking a strong and commercially focused Homeware Buyer to join our team. This is an exciting time to be part of the company.

About the Job

  • Source and develop product ranges that reflect current trends, ensuring each range is commercially viable and meets sales targets and customer needs.
  • Analyse performance and review current range to ensure sales, margins, and profit are achieved.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible price and margin for goods.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with suppliers and source new ones.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitors.
  • Collaborate with the design team on trends and product development.
  • Presentation skills are essential for presenting to senior management.
  • Take responsibility for your own development and manage the training of junior team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Significant experience in a fast-paced Buying role.
  • Passion for product.
  • Skilled negotiation techniques, organisational, and influencing skills.
  • Able to initiate and build strong relationships with other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Sourcing and Development: Source and develop product ranges that reflect current trends.
  2. Performance Analysis: Analyse performance and review current range to ensure sales, margins, and profit are achieved.
  3. Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible price and margin for goods.
  4. Relationship Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with suppliers and source new ones.
  5. Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitors.
