Job Description:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing procurement functions, including the issue of Purchase Orders, checking acknowledgements and arranging collection of materials.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and planning, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role:

  • Procurement responsibilities will include involvement in all aspects of procurement, expediting, rescheduling or cancelling material deliveries as dictated by changes in demand with the goal of continually aligning supply with demand.
  • Responsibilities will also include dealing with shipping companies on a daily basis to ensure materials are collected on time and that deliveries are received as expected.
  • Another key responsibility will be arranging for certificates of conformance to be available for all items prior to delivery.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the planning department and warehouses to ensure material availability to meet the constantly changing production plan and customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a key position in the company, responsible for managing procurement and planning functions.
  • The role involves coordinating with various departments, including planning and warehouse teams, to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Good organisational and communication skills are essential to excel in this role.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a purchasing environment, working with an MRP system, is required.
  • Candidates must possess a strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports are also essential.
  • An APICS or IIPMM qualification would be beneficial, but not necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:
