We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Nurse Manager to support the Director of Nursing in managing the clinical and operational functions in a nursing home. About the Role- The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating clinical practices to ensure compliance with HIQA standards, national health policies, and best practice guidelines.
- They will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans, ensuring that each patient receives personalized and effective care.
- Additionally, they will develop and lead infection prevention and control strategies, ensuring adherence to the latest HIQA guidance and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
- The Senior Nurse Manager will support ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Health Act 2007 and its associated regulations, by monitoring and reporting on regulatory requirements and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- They will assist in preparing for and responding to HIQA inspections, audits, and follow-up actions, ensuring that the nursing home meets the required standards and benchmarks.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including risk registers, incident logs, audit reports, and care plans, is also a critical responsibility of this role.
- The successful candidate will mentor and supervise nursing and care staff, promoting professional development and reflective practice, and participate in recruitment, induction, rostering, and performance management activities.
- They will facilitate regular staff meetings, clinical supervision, and training sessions, promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and autonomy within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in nursing management, preferably in a nursing home or similar aged care setting
- Strong knowledge of HIQA Standards, the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People, and relevant health legislation
- Leadership training and/or a management qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6 in Management) is desirable
