We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting nursing staff in delivering exceptional services.

About the Role:

  • Treat patients with dignity and respect, exercising discretion and maintaining their confidentiality.
  • Assist patients to become as independent as possible by giving the appropriate level of support.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and ensure adequate nutritional intake and hydration.
  • Assist with basic patient care duties and maintain the ward/department environment to promote good infection control and health and safety at work.
  • Participate in discussions about patient care and ward/departmental development, including handover and team meetings.
  • Undertake administrative and clerical tasks associated with patient care to facilitate the smooth running of the ward/department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of the healthcare teams.
  • Recognise limitations and seek assistance where necessary.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings.
  • Report all incidents immediately, which may adversely affect a patient, colleague or the healthcare environment.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with patients, their relatives/friends, colleagues, and all other members of the multidisciplinary team.
