Purchasing Manager Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our purchasing team and drive business growth. As a Purchasing Manager, you will oversee category procurement budgets, implement streamlined processes, source new suppliers, and ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall category strategy, ensuring optimal results for the organization.
  • Market Analysis and Risk Management: Monitor market dynamics and industry developments to inform procurement decisions and mitigate risks, protecting the organization's interests.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage product ranges within the portfolio to ensure a competitive and innovative assortment, meeting customer needs and driving sales growth.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize internal procurement processes and supply-chain considerations to meet material requirements 'on time & in full', minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.
  • Negotiation and Cost Management: Negotiate terms and conditions to ensure optimal product cost, securing the best value for the organization.
  • Market Insight and Continuous Improvement: Leverage market insight and drive continuous improvement to maximize profitability and competitiveness, staying ahead of the competition.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data-driven insights to track portfolio performance against target and drive improvement, making informed decisions that drive success.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
  • Commercial Acumen and Experience: Strong commercial acumen and proven experience at Senior Purchasing Management level (+3 years).
  • Analytical Skills: Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong communication, engagement, and presentation skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing platforms and ERP systems.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills.
