Procurement Leadership Role

The Senior Category Manager position plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a team of Category Managers responsible for implementing the regional procurement strategy.

This key leadership role incorporates strategic and policy development aspects with medium-term consequences on the function's operation. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a detailed procurement strategy, ensuring commodity productivity through price, value analysis, and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage regional categories/commodities across European manufacturing sites.
  2. Identify and engage with internal stakeholders to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality.
  3. Develop and execute detailed commodity strategies, including assessments of opportunity for commodity spend segmentation and supply market analysis.
  4. Define negotiation strategies, conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection, and manage contract lifecycle compliance.
  5. Deliver commodity productivity through price, value analysis, or continuous improvement projects and support regional/sector countermeasures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years procurement sourcing, consulting, buyer, and/or analyst experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and competence in negotiating skills and assessing vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating discussions, consultation, and conflict resolution skills, professional communication, and strong leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in a similar role, with expertise in procurement strategy development, supplier relationship management, and negotiation.
