Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic risk management, fostering a proactive and compliant culture.
  • Ensure effective oversight, regulatory adherence, and continuous evolution of risk frameworks.
  • Provide expert advice, support decision-making, and drive accountability across the business.
  • Develop and maintain the Operational Risk Framework aligned with industry standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day risk management, including monitoring risk registers, controls, and incident management.
  • Provide timely guidance on legal and compliance matters to support business decisions.
  • Promote a strong risk and compliance culture through stakeholder engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of total work experience in finance or related field.
  • 3 years of management experience in an insurance environment; some risk/compliance governance experience desirable.
  • A degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics or related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Certificate in Insurance (APA) with commitment to progress in insurance/compliance exams.
  • Strong working knowledge of key processes, structures and controls within the company.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Consumer Protection Code, Consumer Duty, Minimum Competency Code, Data Protection Acts, and relevant legislation by Central Bank of Ireland or FSA.
  • Ability to understand, articulate, challenge and influence stakeholders on risk and compliance topics.
  • Enthusiastic with high personal drive and energy.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

This role requires pre-conditioned Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime with enhanced background screening.
