Key responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant include:

  • Carrying out assigned tasks involving direct patient care and daily living activities.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene, dietary intake, physical and mental well-being.
  • Ensuring care is provided in an empathetic manner while respecting patient dignity.
  • Assisting with patient mobility using appropriate equipment when necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all information shared.

Requirements for the role are:

  • QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in a healthcare discipline.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Patient Moving & Handling skills.
  • Visa or GNIB documentation (if applicable).
  • International Police Clearance (if lived abroad for six months or more).
