Quality Assurance and Food Safety Lead

We're seeking an accomplished Quality Assurance and Food Safety Lead to oversee our distribution centre's food safety and quality policies.

This role will involve monitoring and verifying the implementation of food safety and quality management systems, leading a team of professionals to ensure compliance with corporate standards and auditing requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and demonstrate integrity and accountability in their work.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor the quality and safety of food products on site.
  • Implement and maintain food safety and quality management (FSQM) systems for the site.
  • Lead the food safety team onsite and manage relationships with suppliers and product approvals.
  • Ensure records are maintained according to corporate standards.
  • Conduct product and process inspections and assessments, including internal audits.
  • Investigate, report, and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Report to management on food safety, quality, and compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance on food safety and quality queries from operations teams.
  • Participate in food safety and quality training programs.
  • Maintain documentation control and assist with product review processes.

Required qualifications include a degree in a recognized food or science discipline, previous experience in quality assurance, and expertise in food safety and quality procedures.
