Job Overview:
Claims Handler RoleThis role is a key position in our organization, responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant, and efficient claims handling services to our customers.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding their eligibility, cover/benefits, and terms and conditions.
- Ensure that information provided to customers and third parties is correct, clear, complete, and up-to-date by consulting relevant data sources.
- Support a culture of customer-centricity where priorities drive our work.
- Process incoming correspondence and documentation effectively and efficiently within service level agreements and in line with relevant regulations.
- Proactively review claims to determine what actions/steps can be taken to progress and follow up with relevant parties accordingly.
- Investigate claims thoroughly and efficiently, identifying relevant and complete information at the earliest opportunity.
- Work proactively with customers and service providers to progress claims towards settlement in line with departmental procedures.
- Reserve accurately by estimations of realistic ultimate costs of each claim for any potential liability within reserving authority, with clear documentation of rationale on systems.
- Review claims within agreed timeframes relative to claim type as accurately and thoroughly as possible, complying with Central Bank requirements.
This role is classified as a controlled function. Any appointment will be conditional on us being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Awareness Professional Association qualification or grandfathered status in the specified function as per Market Conduct Committee requirements.
- Aptitude for learning and taking exams successfully with ability to progress to Certified Insurance Practitioner qualification with ease.
- Two years' experience handling similar type claims in an Insurer or Managing General Agent.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent investigation skills, the ability to articulate complicated information clearly and accurately, and strong written communication skills. They will also be approachable, friendly, and easy-to-deal-with, with strong relationships and a dedication to continuous improvement and innovation.
