Logistics Manager Job Description

As a Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery experience. You will oversee dispatch operations, manage delivery partners, packaging, and logistics costs while continuously improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage dispatch operations to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Oversee delivery partners by selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring service levels are met.
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with logistics, delivery, and packaging.
  • Packaging strategy - ensure products are packaged securely, sustainably, and cost-effectively.
  • Process improvement - implement best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Team leadership - train and support warehouse/dispatch staff.
  • Reporting & KPIs - track performance on delivery times, costs, and service quality, and report back to senior management.
  • Cross-department collaboration - work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Procurement to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Provide administrative support in the warehouse where required.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of dispatch operations, packaging processes, and transport management.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with delivery partners and suppliers.
  • Experience managing budgets and cost control within logistics.
  • Leadership experience - ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset - able to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on customer experience.
  • IT literacy - comfortable using warehouse/dispatch software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office/Excel.
