Optimize Equipment Performance Technician

A key specialist in the manufacturing process, this technician is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment operation and minimizing downtime.

This is a critical function that requires strong technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiency and productivity.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for primary and support processes within the Manufacturing area.
  2. Provide value-added technical expertise to equipment issue resolution and maintain a state of operation at all times.
  3. Maintain metrics for equipment downtime and product yields.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to optimize product output through effective monitoring and evaluation/analysis of processes and equipment.
  5. Complete Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on time and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve work station efficiency or yield improvement and carry through into manufacturing.
  7. Ensure tooling is available and in optimal working order, fit for purpose.
  8. Support onboarding of new technician hires and ensure they are fully competent in manufacturing products through all work steps.
  9. Communicate effectively with the Line Lead and Line Support Technician regarding equipment and process issues.
Requirements
  • A Level 6 Higher Certificate or above in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a technical role in a similar field, with demonstrated experience with automated equipment maintenance an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly with electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Highly motivated with good initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated process and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards.
