Job Description

The Manufacturing Process Technician plays a crucial role in the Engineering team, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. The primary objective is to provide technical support to the manufacturing operation within our molding Business Unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with engineers to develop production processes and ongoing process improvements.
  • Providing technical support for manufacturing processes as required.
  • Maintaining minimal manufacturing downtime by proactively performing preventative maintenance on tooling/mandrels and moulds used in the manufacturing process.
  • Ensuring all tooling and equipment are available and calibrated for each shift, achieving 100% availability based on manufacturing schedules.
  • Working closely with the Planning and Shift team leader to minimize downtime during each shift.
  • Preparing work instructions, etc., according to Repligen's Quality System.
  • Providing technical input and support for investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Carrying out all work according to Company procedures, ensuring high productivity and quality levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Responsible for setting up and supporting new production equipment and tooling.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling to enhance production efficiencies.
  • Efficiently transferring prototype and pilot products/tooling to full production status and supporting these product lines on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
  • A formal Production/Engineering/Science qualification or relevant manufacturing experience (medical devices, plastics, etc.) would be beneficial.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar position or role as Mfg/Process Technician would be advantageous.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of medical device quality standards/practices or similar regulated industry would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is necessary.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and being a good team player is crucial.
  • High self-motivation is required.
