Job Title: Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist

This role will be based in a location and will report to the Programme Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the EIA process for large scale Renewable Energy Projects, including delivery of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statement for the proposed development;
  • Provide environmental expertise to assist the Team and inform the Strategy to ensure compliance with Planning and Environmental issues;
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in planning/environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans to maximise outcomes;
  • Assist the Stakeholder team with effective project plans for management of communications and consultation with local communities and stakeholders;
  • Prepare specifications for third party services and assist the procurement team in procurement processes;
  • Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety and Environmental policies and EU and National policies and statutory requirements;
  • Assist with upskilling and mentoring of junior staff on EIA and Appropriate Assessment processes;
  • Participate in the Performance Management process to deliver own and the wider team's objectives;
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Hold a degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent;
  • Have minimum 5 years experience in leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large scale projects;
  • Possess expertise in delivering documentation for large scale development projects;
  • Have experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects;
  • Understand the EIA process and Irish planning policy and legislation;
