Key Role in Regulatory Affairs

The Regulatory Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering regulatory insights and guidance across a diverse portfolio of generation assets, supporting the transition to a plan-led system for generation and network planning relating to system services.

This position is central to driving ESB's strategic ambitions in renewable energy growth across Great Britain, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated and collaborative regulatory team working across GB and Ireland.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading regulatory analysis and engagement across Great Britain, Ireland, and Northern Ireland with relevant system operators and lobby groups.
  • Monitoring and influencing policy developments including system services market in Ireland, UK, and market development, including European network codes.
  • Representing the company in industry forums and working groups, advocating for commercially sound and technically viable regulatory outcomes.
  • Providing regulatory context and understanding of cross-market interactions within the system service market design.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in energy markets, renewables development, or regulatory affairs. They must be able to operate independently and as part of a flexible project team with diverse makeup.
