Environmental Consultant Role Overview
- Deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services and manage ecology contracts.
- Provide expert ecological input on projects including wind farms, road schemes, and commercial developments.
- Conduct and oversee ecological fieldwork and species/habitat surveys.
- Prepare and review Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) to ensure compliance.
- Lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments (AA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Biodiversity chapters for EIARs.
- Write and review detailed technical reports to provide accurate insights.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality results and represent the organization as an expert witness at Oral Hearings.
- Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams on project planning and design.
- Postgraduate degree in Ecology or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental consultancy.
- Full membership or eligibility of CIEEM, CIWEM, or a similar professional body.
- Strong technical report writing and project management skills.
- Deep knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
- Demonstrated expertise in CEMP preparation and implementation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Valid full driving license required for site travel.
