Infrastructure Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our dynamic team and work on building and maintaining the infrastructure of our platform. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Linux kernel, containerization, and Kubernetes.

The key responsibilities of this role include developing stable and performance-optimized Linux OS for the Kubernetes platform, designing and implementing optimized Linux OS upgrade management systems, managing different runtimes in our cloud, including containers, kata, and virtual machines, developing high-performance applications in Go and Python, contributing to kernel development and optimization for improved system performance, and implementing observability tools and practices to monitor system performance and health.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also contribute to open-source projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt and verify new optimized Linux OS, and stay updated with the latest developments in kernel enhancements and security practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • No less than 5 years of proven experience in Linux, with knowledge of Linux kernel development and operating system internals, particularly process scheduler, memory management, file system, and network.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Go, and Python.
  • Expertise in using Kubernetes for orchestrating containerized applications.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, especially TCP/IP stack.
  • Experience with observability tools and practices.
  • Ability to identify gaps and issues across systems and functional areas, propose solutions, and drive those resolutions.
  • Champions best practices and advanced concepts and impacts the business by delivering solutions that address business needs.
  • Ability to lead and empower others, taking responsibility for small projects and collaborating across functional teams to influence change.
  • Actively seeks feedback and ways to improve team performance and projects, demonstrating strong communication skills.
