We are seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Technical Inspector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing/co-managing a team and working with other experts in the discharge of their role.

The Senior Technical Inspector will contribute to a wider division as requirements dictate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing safety case compliance assurance programs;
  • Carrying out and reporting on inspections and audits;
  • Carrying out and reporting on incident investigations and making recommendations for improvements;
  • Providing judgement on compliance with regulatory frameworks;
  • Recommending regulatory enforcement action and managing follow up actions;
  • Managing direct reports in terms of coaching, mentoring, along with skills transfer and development;
  • Carrying out appraisals through an annual process;
  • Providing input into policies/guidelines/procedures;
  • Liaising with relevant bodies;
  • Participating in technical committees;
  • Contributing to the overall delivery of a strategy;
  • Peer reviewing documents;
  • Advising on regulatory or technical issues;
  • Carrying out such functions as may be required to support the Energy Safety Division.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience related to gas transmission and/or distribution design, construction, commissioning and maintenance;
  • Experience in a regulatory, process industry, civil or mechanical engineering, or gas pipelines/networks environment;
  • Degree in Engineering/other relevant discipline;
  • Experience of hazard analysis, risk assessment, mitigation and control;
  • Substantial experience in carrying out audits and inspections;
  • Experience in relation to safety management systems;
  • Full clean B driver's licence.
