Job Description

Mechanical engineers play a vital role in the development of buildings, working closely with architects, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that structures are safe, functional and environmentally sustainable.

As a senior associate mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for leading technical teams and acting as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders. This will involve coordinating projects from conception to completion, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Winning work and enhancing client relationships through effective business development and proposal management.
  • Identifying opportunities for growth and delivering high-quality commercial and technical proposals that meet client needs.
  • Providing technical leadership and project management expertise on large-scale built environment projects.
  • Actively engaging with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from preliminary design to construction, commissioning and handover to clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, plus a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CEng). You should have a strong track record of commercial management experience, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence at all levels.

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong knowledge of building services, particularly in healthcare, education, transportation, industry and commercial sectors.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, delegate and develop others within a team environment.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills, with a strong 'can-do' attitude.
