We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Officer to oversee our high-volume customs clearance department.
- Supervise and support the Data Entry team on daily tasks, activities, and queries.
- Act as point of escalation for issues within the department.
- Onboard and train new staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle the demands of the role.
- Delegate declaration assignments in a timely and fair manner to meet business timelines.
- Review processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and eliminate duplication.
- Manage and implement customer authorisations, ensuring correct clearance procedures are followed.
- Ensure company processes and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Identify new process flows and methods of working to enhance processes, team, and business performance.
- Develop intimate knowledge and gather data of specific customer requirements to ensure effective and efficient delivery of tasks.
- Ensure accurate input of Customs data into management systems.
- Essential experience of Customs procedures and requirements.
- Previous experience in a Supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and improve team performance.
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
