Clearance Specialist

This role involves ensuring accurate and timely customs clearance procedures are followed to facilitate international trade.

Responsibilities

  1. Process imports and exports by generating declarations and customs documents. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and within set deadlines.

  2. Conduct thorough due diligence checks, escalating any discrepancies or issues as required.

  3. Routine tasks related to customs document processing will be an essential part of this role.

  4. Daily communication with the customs authority will be required to ensure smooth operations.

  5. Ensure accuracy of entries and calculate VAT, excise, and duty correctly to avoid any discrepancies or penalties.

  6. Address any queries or refunds promptly and resolve issues effectively to maintain a positive relationship with clients.

  7. Offer solutions to improve clients' experience and continuously propose improvements to our processes.

  8. Participate in the recruitment process and provide feedback to help identify suitable candidates for the role.

  9. Manage customer authorizations and ensure correct clearance procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  1. Experience with Customs procedures and requirements is essential for success in this role.

  2. Proficiency in using Customs software such as Thyme IT is also required.

  3. The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines is crucial.

  4. Strong organizational skills, good communication, and reliability are vital for effective teamwork.

  5. Quick data entry skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders will also be beneficial.

  6. Excellent MS Word and Excel skills are essential for producing high-quality documents and reports.
