About the Role

The Royal Irish Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to fill the position of Executive Director. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual to shape the future of the Academy, fostering high-quality scholarship and informing public debate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership, working closely with the President and Council to achieve the Academy's ambitious goals. Key responsibilities include overseeing the operation of the Academy, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring effective governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic vision and leadership to achieve the RIA's goals
  • Oversight of the Academy's research activities and projects
  • Leadership of the senior management team
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems and processes
  • Accountability for financial management and governance

Requirements:

  • Qualification on the National Framework Qualifications (NFQ) of Level 9 or higher
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management role
  • Proven track record in strategic leadership and change management
  • Experience in corporate governance and financial planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
