Construction based Health, Safety and Environmental Advisors play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors on construction sites. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture by continuously improving systems and procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to growing their business and developing their people. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety legislation and adopt health, safety, and environmental policies and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assisting with external audits and inspections to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Planning, developing, and delivering comprehensive health and safety training programs to promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to represent the company at industry forums, seminars, and other events.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree-level qualification in health and safety or a relevant equivalent qualification, coupled with extensive experience in a similar EHS role within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices in the construction industry in Ireland.
  • Expertise in safety and quality management systems, including risk assessment and method statement development.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and draw up reports, including risk assessments and recommendations for corrective actions.
