About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with multiple stakeholders, be challenged, and help shape the direction of our financial reporting team.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and experience of IFRS reporting, including IFRS 17. They will also have experience with consolidation of several group entities with different underlying businesses.

In this role, you will prepare and review periodic financial and management reports for Financial & Regulatory Reporting purposes and business management within required deadlines. You will also implement and monitor adherence to financial reporting and control policies in accordance with company and group requirements and standard accounting practices.

This is a key role within our Group Finance team, responsible for the co-ordination, preparation and delivery of quarterly consolidated accounts for the Irish Division and annual financial statements for several entities within the Irish Life Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review periodic financial and management reports for Financial & Regulatory Reporting purposes and business management within required deadlines
  • Implement and monitor adherence to financial reporting and control policies in accordance with company and group requirements and standard accounting practices
  • Oversee the development of new systems and procedures to meet the changing regulatory and business requirements and anticipated future needs of the business and/or clients
  • Involved in the successful delivery of projects as required from time to time
  • Partner with the business to provide financial operating results/management reports and help identify potential solutions to issues prior to escalation to senior management
  • Operationally manage engagement with auditors and GWL controllership teams

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience of IFRS reporting, including IFRS 17
  • Experience with consolidation of several group entities with different underlying businesses
  • Highly motivated qualified accountant with a proven history of getting things done
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to break down complex themes to senior stakeholders (including non-finance stakeholders)
  • Strong people leadership and talent development experience
  • Used to/comfortable working in a fast-paced wide-ranging environment, working to deliver to strict deadlines and producing high quality work
