Job Summary

Senior Process Optimization Specialist - 23 Month Fixed Term Contract

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership in a manufacturing environment, possessing and applying broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to deliver complex assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple significant engineering projects through project management offices.
  • Provide technical leadership from an engineering perspective.
    • Continuously improve process performance.
    • Implement lean manufacture within the organization.
    • Interface with cross-functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Drive process troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives.
    • Develop and guide assigned team members.
    • Lead manufacturing engineers and technicians as required.
      • Develop and implement process optimization equipment.
      • Ensure system integration is considered in all systems.
      • Collaborate with other engineers, QA, and Ops to embed testing into development and validation.
      • Lead issue analysis, root cause identification, and timely resolution.
      • Lead FMEA's, review, and support development of quality documents.
      • Validate systems with other engineers.
      • Define and monitor quality metrics and KPIs.
      • Own requirements and design reviews for testability input.
      • Follow company quality and regulatory standards.
      • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proven project management skills through business-critical project delivery.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of providing technical leadership and direction to engineers, students, technicians, and operators.
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills, process improvement orientation, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable autonomy and flexibility.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Technological expert willing to source, investigate, and implement technological advances.
  • Confident and effective decision maker with proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
