
Maintenance Operations Specialist

Our client is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to join their team on a 12-month contract in Sligo. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering and operations to support pharma manufacturing in compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to achieve equipment reliability.
- Participate in design and project discussions to help build equipment reliability before installation.
- Develop, document, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for new equipment.
- Ensure commissioning and critical spare parts are identified, received, and properly cataloged.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment commissioning, and qualification.
- Review and execute commissioning, qualification, and validation protocols in line with project schedules.
- Review and approve process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and equipment layouts.
- Perform daily preventive and demand-based maintenance on manufacturing and utility systems.
- Manage the site's Predictive Maintenance program, including oversight of condition monitoring contracts and follow-up actions.
- Support equipment and process upgrades as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in line with engineering procedures.
- Liaise with internal/external engineering teams and contractors for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Assist in preparing for and ensuring success during external inspections and internal audits.
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors to ensure safe and compliant work practices.
Requirements:
- A Certification, Degree or Trade Qualification in Engineering or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a highly regulated manufacturing (Pharma/Biologics/Medical Device) environment.
- Experience in instrumentation/PLC troubleshooting.
