Job Description

The Investment Operations Analyst role is a vital part of our team, responsible for overseeing the management of investment activities performed on behalf of the AIG General Insurance International Portfolio. This involves ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information, as well as monitoring and maintaining various tools and systems to support adherence to established control frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and reconciling Blackrock DSS team IBOR output, including identifying and escalating any discrepancies or exceptions;
  • Maintaining the PMF (Portfolio Master File) workflow tool to ensure timely processing of requests and compliance with established control frameworks;
  • Supporting the monthly pricing process for relevant securities on Aladdin;
  • Monitoring and maintaining FAS157 levelling process;
  • Serving as the single point of contact for portfolio managers, CIO team, and insurance companies regarding investment operations queries;
  • Oversight of externally managed portfolios, including annual review of investment performance and operational performance, and recommendation to the investment committee on whether to retain or seek new managers;
  • Managing delivery of investment committee objectives on behalf of the General Insurance International CIO team, including IPGs, Charters, and self-assessment completion.

Additionally, this role will assist in the management and delivery of project initiatives, such as Aladdin implementation and third-party outsourcing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in business, finance, or a related discipline;
  • At least 5 years' experience working in an investments or asset management environment, preferably with a focus on operations, governance, and compliance;
  • Strong knowledge of investments and business processes, including front and back office procedures within an investments business;
  • Demonstrable understanding of the fixed income asset class, investment operations, and corporate governance structures required within an investment manager;
  • Proven experience in developing relationships with internal stakeholders and partnering on key business initiatives;
  • Experience dealing with senior managers, coordinating deliverables, prioritizing tasks, and realizing objectives;
  • Expertise with business intelligence tools, SQL, VBA, Microsoft Excel, and ability to manage and interpret large datasets;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
