Maintenance Technician Role

Our company seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to deliver high-quality maintenance services to production and site facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for all plant facilities & services, including compressed air & refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out scheduled and unplanned maintenance of plant equipment.
  2. Perform wiring installation, commissioning of plant/equipment, and troubleshooting on plant/equipment.
  3. Conduct facility checks, including meter readings, reports, and resolving discrepancies within Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting & electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC controlled plant.
  4. Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment & installations & modifications.
  5. Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximising uptime of machinery.
  6. Minimise downtime in production & utility areas.
  7. Manage on-site contractors, including permits & induction.
  8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as appropriate (e.g. projects, Lean).
  9. Troubleshoot using PLC Programs/wiring diagrams etc.
  10. Assist the health & safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines & ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team.

Essential skills and qualifications include a 3rd level qualification in Engineering or be a time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience).

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned & reactive maintenance skills, and experience of a wide range of Electrical Control Systems, temperature, & PLC/PC Controlled Systems Instrumentation & programming are also required.

This role involves working under pressure & to deadlines and demonstrates a logical approach to problem solving.

Requirements:
  • Hold a recognised apprenticeship in the electrical, electronic or machine control diagnostics field.
  • Be able to work on own initiative & as part of a team.
  • Have good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Exhibit a 'can do' attitude.
