
Chief Procurement Officer

This Dublin based position is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to grow and develop within a leading M&E Contractor.
The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company's operational objectives, optimizing costs while ensuring quality and reliable supply.
Key responsibilities include identifying, assessing, and engaging potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key vendors. Additionally, the role involves tracking market trends and conditions to uncover opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and process enhancement.
A collaborative approach is required, working closely with internal teams to understand requirements and provide procurement guidance and support throughout the purchasing lifecycle. The ideal candidate will also ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
Beyond the core responsibilities, the role offers opportunities to lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes, adopt best practices, and drive operational excellence in procurement.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within the construction industry
• Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Solid knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supply chain principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating across teams and organizational levels
