Job Opportunity: Drive Innovation and Empowerment in Cork City

Young people are the catalyst for positive change in our society. As a Local Leader, you will be instrumental in driving innovation and empowerment initiatives in Cork City.

This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with schools, youth groups, and community leaders to develop social innovation projects that promote participation, inclusivity, and wellbeing among young people.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing social entrepreneurship capacity among marginalized young people through education workshops and activities;
  • Building a network of new and established social entrepreneurs to provide advice and guidance to programme participants;
  • Combining education, practical experience, and ongoing support to enable youth-led social enterprise development;

The ideal candidate will have a recognized qualification in a relevant discipline, a minimum of three years' experience engaging or motivating people, and experience working in the youth/education sector with marginalized young people.

Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification or level 8/9 equivalent (In accordance with the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)) in a relevant discipline is preferred;
  • A minimum of three years with demonstrable experience engaging or motivating people;
  • Experience of working in the youth/education sector with marginalized young people;
  • Experience networking and/or working with educators, community groups and/or local enterprises;
  • Strong IT Skills including G Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Understanding and appreciation of the not-for-profit sector context;
