Job Title: Specialist Therapist for Children with Disabilities

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate speech and language therapist to join our dynamic team in North Dublin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating children with complex disabilities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with children who have communication disorders, speech and language difficulties, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders, and other related issues. They will be expected to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain accurate records of assessments and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication difficulties in children with disabilities.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions tailored to the needs of each child, focusing on improving communication skills, feeding, and swallowing, where applicable.
  • Family Involvement: Work closely with families, providing training, support, and strategies to help them support their child's communication development in everyday settings.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care and support for each child.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to professional and organizational standards.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative programs and services that meet the evolving needs of children with disabilities within the network.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent CORU registered qualification.
  • CORU Registration is essential.
  • Proven experience working with children.
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with children and young people.
  • Enthusiasm, imagination, and initiative.
  • Full Clean Driving License with use of a car.
