Job Opportunity: Financial Support Specialist

Job Role

The successful candidate will provide financial and administrative support to the finance team in delivering key duties.

  • Financial Tasks:
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including weekly lodgements, analysis of credit/debit payments, petty cash management, and invoicing.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Prepare profit and loss budgets for various divisions.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll for GSCK.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts for senior management and the finance sub-committee.
  • Help prepare quarterly management accounts for the board.
  • Support preparation of annual accounts, ready for audit.
  • Provide financial reports for funders.
  • Administer group insurance policies.
  • Develop, amend, and implement financial policies and procedures in consultation with senior management and the finance sub-committee.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum qualification: Accounting Technician or degree in Accountancy (Level 7).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role providing financial and administrative support, preferably within the community and voluntary sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge and use of Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills.

As a highly organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will work well under pressure and have a strong attention to detail.
