Job Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer

Role Summary:

As a senior mechanical building services engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and understanding project requirements, undertaking mechanical design across various disciplines, and agreeing timescales and specifications with design teams, clients, and managers.

Leading and directing junior staff, you will actively participate in the preparation of documents, reports, and health and safety risk assessments, as well as interpreting commercial and/or contractual aspects of correspondence with or between fellow professionals on multidisciplinary projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the delivery of assigned mechanical and building services elements of multi-disciplinary projects across sectors including Built Environment, Water, Transport, and Advisory
  • Working and liaising with associated engineering disciplines as part of project delivery
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Carrying out design and calculation work using relevant industry software (IES, Revit, etc.)
  • Providing technical expertise and coaching junior team members
  • Developing, maintaining, and monitoring programmes for scheduling and reporting on deliverables
  • Maximizing profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, anticipating problems, and communicating with clients

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering
  • Experience leading mechanical services and some multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience mentoring and leading graduate engineers
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentations
  • Ability to lead electrical elements of large projects or a portfolio of smaller projects
  • Experience managing client relationships and expectations
