Job Summary:

A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is required to join our team in Cork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle mechanics, with the ability to inspect, diagnose, service and repair vehicles according to safety and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting and diagnosing faults in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Servicing and repairing heavy vehicles efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out and reporting recurring faults and potential issues
  • Collaborating with other teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Providing guidance and support to apprentices and junior colleagues
  • Upholding strict health and safety protocols and contributing to continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent qualification
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical expertise with proven diagnostic and mechanical ability
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines within a busy environment
  • Desirable: Full Category D Licence
  • Desirable: Experience mentoring apprentices or junior colleagues
