Job Overview:

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our checkout department. This involves providing exceptional customer service at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. You will operate a computerized till system with barcode scanner to efficiently process customer transactions.

  2. Accurate weighing and pricing of products, including fruit and vegetables, is essential in this position.

  3. The ability to check customers' ages for restricted items, such as alcohol, is crucial in maintaining a responsible and safe shopping environment.

  4. Packaging purchases correctly and efficiently is also a key aspect of this role.

  5. Processing store loyalty cards, coupons, and vouchers requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  6. Taking payments and balancing tills daily demands high levels of accuracy and reliability.

  7. Stock management involves checking shelves regularly and restocking items as needed to maintain an attractive and well-stocked department.

  8. Maintaining a visually appealing department through merchandise and presentation is vital in creating a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in retail is highly desirable for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to engage with and prioritize customer needs.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization, and flexibility are essential in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • The ability to use initiative and work effectively as part of a fast-paced team is critical in this position.
