Logistics Operations Supervisor Role

The Logistics Operations Supervisor plays a crucial part in overseeing the daily logistics activities, ensuring seamless coordination of deliveries, stock movement, and supply chain administration. This position is vital in maintaining efficient flow of goods from suppliers to warehouses and retail stores, ultimately benefiting customers.

This role involves managing day-to-day operations of the logistics support administration team within the retail supply chain. The supervisor will be responsible for supervising support staff, coordinating outbound shipments, and ensuring inventory, delivery, and distribution processes consistently meet company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership, Motivation, and Support: Lead, motivate, and support logistics support staff to achieve performance targets, schedule daily tasks, and monitor workflow.
  • Communication and Liaison: Act as key point of contact between logistics, warehouse, customer service, and retail store teams; work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Transport, Retail, and Customer Service Managers to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Track and report on KPIs such as delivery performance, stock accuracy, and staff productivity; prepare and present regular reports to management on logistics performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, customer service, or administration is essential, along with proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to liaise effectively across teams, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail with strong administrative skills.
