Technical Support Engineer II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Support Engineer (TSE) for our Dublin office to join our fast-growing enterprise company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Tackle technical problems using deep expertise
  • Build strong networks across departments
  • Dedicate time to understand customer expectations
  • Answer and resolve support cases at all severity levels
  • Champion and track customer issues via ticket tracking system
  • Own customer-facing communications, ensuring concise and professional messaging
  • Share and document knowledge via FAQ/KB articles
  • Develop junior support engineers through training and coaching
  • Lead large multi-participant customer calls, including hot critical issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience in customer-facing technical support work
  • Authority over multiple technologies
  • Proven ability to resolve customer problems and issues using internal and external resources
  • Proven technical troubleshooting skills in complex multi-platform-system-vendor environments
  • Experience supporting both hardware and software products
  • Ability to triage issues and raise them to appropriate engineering groups as necessary
  • Authoritative knowledge of operating systems, LANs/WANs, and storage area networks
  • Knowledge and ability to fix networking, replication, performance, and space issues
  • Demonstration of domain expertise in NFS, S3, SMB, LDAP, or IPv6
