**Design Management Role**

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of project design activity. This will involve working closely with internal stakeholders, including Discipline Leads, and external partners to deliver high-quality designs that meet client objectives.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key responsibilities will include managing the whole design process, ensuring each design team understands scope, deliverables, interfaces, and dependencies, and monitoring design progress to implement changes or variations as needed.

In addition, the Design Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including sub-consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, landscape architects, and specialist designers.

The role will also involve interfacing with internal teams, including Planning, to ensure program updates and meeting client expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum HNC/HND in a Building/Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Chartered member of an appropriate construction-focused association or institute (e.g., ICE/IEI)
  • Experience in a design management role within the construction industry, preferably within a multidisciplinary engineering design consultancy
  • Knowledge of National Infrastructure Programmes and schemes within Regional Investment Programme
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
