A Chief Procurement Officer is responsible for leading the procurement function to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • SOURCE AND PROCURER EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS.
  • Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers for quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Provide input on design changes and alternatives to optimise costs.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Track and expedite orders to meet production and project timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience preferably within the Mechanical Sector.
  • Excellent Computer & report writing skills.
  • Results Orientation, Pharmaceutical procurement experience, Commercial Acumen, Excellent attention to detail, Ability to work on their own initiative, Team Worker/builder, Innovate & improve processes, Good knowledge of Mechanical Suppliers & Subcontractors.
